Reimagining Currency
This project reimagines traditional currency by combining graphic design with augmented reality to create an interactive storytelling experience. The redesigned bills feature historical figures whose stories are often overlooked, transforming currency into a tool for education and cultural awareness. Using the mobile app Artivive, users can scan each bill to activate short animations that introduce the featured individual and highlight their contributions. The visual style of the currency balances recognizable currency elements with modern illustration and motion design, ensuring both authenticity and creativity. The goal of this project was to explore how emerging technology can expand the role of print design beyond static visuals. By integrating augmented reality, the project demonstrates how physical objects can become interactive learning tools. This project strengthened my skills in illustration, motion planning, and designing for cross-platform experiences that merge print and digital media.
